Make Your Own World

Mohammad Asif Reyaz

Mohammad Arif came into this world on the 10th of December, 1981 and now lives in Jamia Nagar, New Delhi. He knows several languages including Urdu, English, and French.

Currently he is learning Arabic at Jamia Millia Islamia. Surprisingly, he is not even a graduate yet. When asked, why? He responded saying that “I am striving for knowledge and not for any degree. My aim is to gain more knowledge”. He adds that for him “time is life which he doesn’t want to waste chasing degrees.” For him time is one thing which life is made of.

Arif lives his life his way and is not influenced by the surroundings or environment.

As a matter of fact, there are two kinds of people living in this world. One, who are burdened by one’s environment or surroundings while the others who are self-made.

Men influenced by environment or environment-made

Self-Made Men

Environment-made man lives according to the environment. When one finds that there is a mad rush for degrees, the other also starts running along. When one comes to know that people are in queue for jobs, the other also joins in. He dances to the tunes of the environment. He cries under the compulsion of environment. Actually, these are the people who do not have any goal for their life. These are the people gone astray. These people have only one goal. That is to earn hard and enjoy hardly. In fact they are beasts of burden.

On the contrary self-made man has a clearly chalked out plan for his life. He dances when he wishes to, cries when he wants to. These are the people who make their own world. These are the people who are salt of the earth. As described in Bible.
"You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men”.
